The Story

It all started on a cold, rainy day in February 2017. I, Lukas, was working as a bike messenger when a leaky bag ruined a delivery, and I decided to make my own—something tough enough to handle the everyday chaos of life on the bike. With some boat tarp, my mother’s domestic sewing machine, and no real clue what I was doing, I got to work. After plenty of trial and error, better materials, a lot of money invested in proper machinery I had a bag that could take a beating—and soon, others wanted one too. That’s how THLP Bags was born.

The Name

Short for “Tjena Hej Leverpastej”—a playful inside joke among messenger friends that became a symbol of friendship, community, and even matching tattoos. The name doesn’t take itself too seriously, but the bags are built to last.

More Than Just Messenger Bags

Today, THLP Bags are for anyone who values quality, durability, and timeless design. Whether you’re on a bike, commuting to work, or heading out on an adventure, our bags are built to handle it all. Every bag is made to order in our Swedish workshop—no mass production, no shortcuts.

Gear you can trust for life.

Made-To-Order

Made in Stockholm, Sweden

Every THLP bag is crafted in our small workshop in Stockholm, Sweden. Nothing is outsourced. Every stitch, cut, and detail is handled in-house to ensure the highest quality and durability.

Most bags are made to order, meaning we start working on your bag after you place an order. This process allows us to focus on quality, reduce material waste, and offer a more personal approach to production. You choose the main color, and for some products, you can also customize accent details. We carefully select the rest to create a bag that is both durable and cohesive.

To reduce wait times, we occasionally make small batches to keep in stock—but whether made to order or ready to ship, every bag is crafted here in our Stockholm workshop with the same attention to detail.

By shopping with us, you’re not just getting a product—you’re supporting independent craftsmanship, sustainable production, and a commitment to making things that last.

Production Times:

Materials & Colors

1000D CORDURA® Fabric

Built to endure. This heavy-duty, high-tenacity nylon is known for its exceptional abrasion resistance, tear strength, and water repellency. Originally developed over 50 years ago, it remains the industry standard for rugged durability—perfect for bags that face daily wear and the harshest conditions.

50mm & 25mm Webbing

Tough, reliable, and built to last. This durable strap offers excellent strength with minimal stretch, maintaining its shape under heavy loads. Its superior water and UV resistance make it ideal for outdoor use, ensuring long-term performance without fading or weakening. Perfect for securing and adjusting with confidence.

The wider 50mm webbing comes in black only, the 25mm one comes in more colors.

Supporting Materials

Beyond the main fabrics and webbing, every THLP bag is built with carefully chosen materials that add structure, comfort, and durability. For the interior, larger bags are lined with industrial-grade truck tarp, offering a tough, waterproof barrier that stands up to heavy use. Smaller bags use a 600D polyester liner—lighter but still durable, with a water-resistant coating to protect your gear.

To maintain shape and comfort, closed-cell foam is used in the shoulder straps and back panels, providing firm cushioning that won’t break down over time. 3D mesh on the back panel and shoulder straps increases airflow, reducing sweat during long days on the move. For added structure, key areas are reinforced with HDPE plastic sheets, helping the bag hold its shape under heavy loads. Edges and seams are finished with binding tape, giving each bag a clean, polished look while adding an extra layer of durability.

Hardware

Every THLP bag is built with hardware chosen for strength, reliability, and long-term performance. For plastic buckles, we rely on ITW Nexus—industry leaders known for their durability and precision. Their side-release buckles are a standout, offering a solid, zero-flex design that won’t bend or fail under pressure.

Essential connection points are reinforced with high-quality adjusters, sliders, and D-rings, all selected for smooth operation and lasting performance. For those looking to upgrade, we offer hardware from the best: AustriAlpin Cobra® buckles for unrivaled strength and Fidlock® magnetic sliders for fast, effortless closures.
